So Thumbnail Blaster is an amazing product from the Blaster Suite team this is an incredible tool to create thumbnails for you for your YouTube videos so you may be wondering why you need to create good looking or standout thumbnails well studies have shown a good-looking thumbnail will increase the click-through rate to your video by over three hundred and seventy percent and this is important to recognize if you're promoting products or services via YouTube as it doesn't matter how good your video is if it's not getting the clicks then your videos not getting the views and then if you are promoting products then then you're not going to get the traffic to those products or services So for an example if we search for how to groom a dog so the first thing that stands out here is a YouTube video okay so it's closeup of the dog a little bit of text and you can see this is the carousel this is the prime real estate Google page one for videos and you can see here now not a lot of text on these and if we have a look at the video view so if we scroll down you could see which of these jump out so the first one that's obviously the best one a little bit of text in the second nothing on the third bit in the fourth nothing on the fifth a little bit of text see this one jumps out so this one jumps out that one a little bit here although the text probably blends in too much in the background so thumbnails when people are scrolling through what to watch the thumbnail is what attracts the clicks so probably this one wouldn't get as many clicks this one is getting some because this pink text salmon color text that's making that standard out quite well nice product shot so obviously depend on your market pets in a pet video you want a nice close-up of a pet but if you are doing other promotions like health or something like that you want a person in them and then so that's what you want in terms of if you're looking to create a good thumbnail you and a good high contrast color background a good image and some good text and because you are looking to attract the click this is what Thumbnail Blaster does as a product. So Thumbnail Blaster is a really good product which I've been using for a couple of years it comes from the guys from Blaster Suite and they've got a range of products primarily around YouTube videos so if you want to create a thumbnail you've got two options you can either create it from a video link from your existing video or you start with no video.
So we're gonna do this one today.
They've got a massive range of templates and styles you can select from there's hundreds of different images and styles here you can select. And all you need to do then is vary the text vary the image to create whatever type of thumbnail you're looking to create to match your video. And like many others of these type of products they've got template clubs so if you're in a particular niche and you can't find the type of product to match the type of videos that you are doing they're probably going to be in the theme club So we're gonna, I don't use that, so we're just gonna go with the standard set here today.
So you can see also within here then they got a categorization of the templates so today we're gonna do a cake videos. So let's do food and let's select this ones we're gonna do have to make a cake so that's quite a nice one to style give it a second to load and when you notice with the templates you can change the background colors so it gives you a lot of variety and you can change the text styles you can select the background images the people work well in the videos we're going to leave that image but we might upload a separate image so we're gonna do we're gonna do how to make a chocolate cake.
So one of the things also within the styles you can see sometimes the text is capitalized and sometimes it does the capitalization for you so this would suggest in capital text so we're gonna put that in as capitals and you can see now my text has become bigger than the background so all I'm going to do is just extend that and I could have done I could have used the font, I could reduce the font like this or I could reach it down here with the font options but I want to keep the text the sort of suggested size we're gonna make that a bit smaller and move that out of the way.
So it's good to use the sort of template suggestions where you can because then you keep it on the theme in but then I'm gonna do let's bring another image in here so we would do an image search so these are the image control features what we're going to do is we don't want to change them as you're going to find it so if we go into pixabay we can search let's search for a cake. That's a nice one, because we're thinking of chocolate cakes. So we're not going to change the image we're gonna use this an additional image so let's take this and move this down. So there you go guys, so within a matter of minutes there we were able to create a really attractive thumbnail.
So one of the features within Thumbnail Blaster which I think makes this a standout product is the split test feature so so if we wanted to see here there's a result of some splits I've run before.
Generally split tests can run for whatever period you define them for, 12 hours, 24 hours or 48 hours. So you can see but this is the sort of results you are looking to achieve. So 300% more views with this thumbnail against this thumbnail and this one was a fantastic result 760 percent with this thumbnail against this thumbnail and again these are standard template styles so they've all been designed for good click-through but it's surprising the difference high contrast colors against the darker background and again all these a high contrast this is a cleaner image so I think this one was higher performance and that's a really good result if you look at that 760% so if you think of your videos so this is average I would say I look to achieve a 300% increase and so this was surprising blue against red so this red always seems to be coming up with a good result but this one seven hundred percent so you'd be happy with three in two percent but seven percent so if you think if that was your video on you you were earning commissions or sales off those videos that this was promoting and that's a significant increase in click through here and then potential increase in sales by getting the right working thumbnail for your video so let's just quickly do a quick split test so if we want to do it , we click new split test and then we select the account then we select the video it reads the video existing video thumbnail and then you set a duration how long you want to run it for I like to run a 48 hours and then you change the thumbnail we just browse to our folder and select your thumbnail for your image.
It uploads, define your time and then add your split test.
